FAQs

What is a soy candle?                                                                                             A soy candle is made from soybean wax. Wax from a soybean is non-toxic, biodegradable and a renewable sustainable resource. A 100% soy candle will burn cleaner, cooler, slower and more evenly.

Are all soy wax candles the same?
No, Many "soy" candles are actually a blend containing soy wax and paraffin wax. Southern Soy candles do not contain paraffin wax.

What are the benefits of soy?
Soy wax is 100% natural. Paraffin candles are made from petroleum and release CO2 in the atmosphere.
Soy candles produce far less soot than paraffin candles. In fact, the soot produced is 90% less and is white. For this reason, soy candles are the healthy alternative to a paraffin wax candle. Breathing toxic soot can be very unhealthy and will eventually cover nearby walls and furniture.

Do I need to trim the wick? (Also See Wood Wick Care Page)
You should always trim the wick to 1/4" every time you light your candle.

Where should I burn my soy candle?
It is best to burn the candle on a stable, protected, hard surface away from drafts and material that could catch fire. We suggest not leaving any candle unattended,

Can I recycle my jars?
Absolutely! The white glass jars would work well to hold cotton swabs or q-tips   in the bathroom or make great kitchen canisters. Completely burn out your   candle and remove the metal wick base. You can remove remaining wax with hot   water and a paper towel. Wash the glass in water and soap.

Will you be adding more fragrances?                                                                 We are always adding more fragrances and love getting customer feedback. If   you are looking for something specific we are able to do custom orders for an   additional fee and are always open to suggestions for new scents to add!

What is the burn time on the candles?                                                               6oz wooden wick-  40-45 hours burn time                                                         14oz. wooden wick- 85-95 hours burn time                                                     Cotton wicks are about 5-8 hours less on burn time.
